Composite doors, explained.
The questions we get asked most often, with straight answers.
What is a composite door?
A composite door is made of several materials bonded together — a solid timber subframe, high-density polyurethane foam core, and a fibreglass (GRP) skin. The combination delivers the warmth and look of timber with the security and weather performance of modern materials.
What colour is the inside of the door?
All of our composite doors have a white interior finish as standard.
How much do your doors cost?
Prices start at £642 fully fitted — including survey, fitting, VAT, and a 10-year warranty. The configurator on this site gives you a live total as you choose options.
How long do composite doors last?
With minimal care — oiling the moving parts annually — a composite door will easily last 35+ years.
When will my door be installed?
Typical lead time is 7-10 working days from survey, depending on colour and glass selection.
How weather-resistant are they?
The GRP skin doesn't warp, swell, or rot. Every door is supplied with a 10-year guarantee and meets current Building Regulations for thermal performance.
What about security?
Police-approved Winkhaus multi-point locking is standard. Toughened glass, spy-holes, and security chains are included.
What areas do you cover?
Most of the North East of England — Northumberland, Tyneside, Wearside, and Teesside, including Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham, Middlesbrough, and Darlington.
Are there different quality grades?
Yes. We use premium fibreglass skins and thermally-broken foam cores, with a 10-year guarantee on every door — that's a meaningful step up from the cheaper alternatives sold elsewhere.
